Join us for our monthly virtual presentation facilitated by experts in their field.
4:00 - 5:00 pm (Eastern)
TOPIC: Unlocking Cellular Heterogeneity in Veterinary Immunology: Single-Cell and Spatial Approaches
Presenter: Dr. Leilani Marty-Santos
This program has been approved, for one (1) hour of continuing education credit in jurisdictions that recognize RACE approval.
This presentation will explore how single-cell and spatial gene expression technologies are advancing research in the field of immunology. Single cell and spatial context enable examination of cellular heterogeneity underlying complex conditions like infectious disease, vaccine responses and autoimmunity in animal models. The discussion will be driven by published, peer-reviewed research, demonstrating how these tools provide unprecedented resolution for understanding disease mechanisms and advancing therapeutic development.
Leilani Marty-Santos, PhD, is a distinguished Senior Science and Technology Advisor, specializing in Spatial applications at 10x Genomics since February 2022. Prior to this role, Leilani served as a Field Application Scientist at Akoya Biosciences, Inc., and held postdoctoral positions at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Michigan Medical School. Leilani completed a PhD in Genetics, Developmental, and Disease at UT Southwestern Medical Center, focusing on the transcription factor Pdx1 and its regulatory impact on pancreatic development. Leilani holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras.
Our monthly presentations are one hour long and cover a variety of topics we believe you will find interesting and educational. Also, all sessions are recorded and made available in our Resource Library for viewing on-demand by our members at a later time.
