Dr. Tara Ghormley earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University followed by a one-year rotating internship in San Diego and a neurology-focused internship in South Florida. Dr. Ghormley completed her residency in Small Animal Internal Medicine in Southern California and achieved board certification in 2014.

Dr. Ghormley is currently the owner of Apex Veterinary Internal Medicine, a mobile specialty practice serving Southern California. Her practice provides internal medicine consultations, abdominal ultrasound, and endoscopy services to general practitioners throughout the region.

One of Dr. Ghormley’s goals is to encourage private practice specialists to take a more active role in research, volunteerism, and leadership. Her professional interests include immune-mediated and hematologic diseases, and she has contributed to veterinary textbooks and serves as a lecturer for the Veterinary Information Network (VIN). (Board term ends June 30, 2026)
